Seems a gay student committed suicide after his roommate filmed his encounter with another man & posted it online. Students, one male the other female, are being charged with privacy violations.
WTF?! What kind of trash gets their jollies even viewing another's sexual liaisons, straight or gay? Much less filming them?! I feel sorry for the young man who killed himself.
I hope the students who filmed & posted his private life are expelled from Rutgers & have a very difficult time finding another college to accept him. Honestly, I got mad enough when I was in school and people started whispering, "Spongebob, I think Eugene or Woody is gay...*&^*^, f_g", etc. Or "Spongebob, do you know if Nell & Sue are just roommates or gay?" Or how about that lady in the Army, Spongebob, she really doesn't seem to like dresses or feminine stuff, is she gay? I DON'T KNOW OR CARE, IT'S NOT MY BUSINESS!! I know no one filmed anyone's encounters, and don't think the net was around back then to post 'em. Make fist, then raise middle finger, and that is my opinion of this young man's "friends".
Yeah. I say fuck them too, and I hope that no college will accept them at all! They should be punished for the rest of their lives with guilt until it drives them mad. That poor man! I feel so sorry for him, and worse, for his friends and family who have now lost someone dear to them all because of a couple of assholes! Who the hell does that?
Here's my question. Would this suicide be getting the coverage it is if the student who was filmed were straight? Would the world care as much if the taped encounter were between a man and a woman? My guess is no, and that is wrong. I think the taping of anyone without consent is completely unethical and uncalled for. Yet, the media, and most people in general, are turning this tragedy into something solely having to do with homosexuality. Personally, I don't care what the guy's sexual orientation was. The two who did the filming should be severely punished, and my prayers are with the family of the young man who killed himself.
Another example of cyber bullying which will probably go largely unpunished. I think these two people have done a horrible thing, and they probably don't even feel bad about it. The internet allows people to do harm to others without being held accountable. People who might not have the nerve to bully someone to their face can do something like this and destroy a life.
I agree tht it doesn'tmtter wht your sexul preference is. This is wrong! But if he was afraid to tell anyone that he was gay or if, perhaps, it was his first time with another man, it could make things worse. Most straight people don't have that added pressure of being different.
I agree that in all likelyhood little if anything will actually be done about it. I don't recall much being done after Phoebe Prince's suicide last year. They resort to that kids will be kids bullshit. Ok so there is truth to that but this is beyond kids' stuff. And yet more often than not the bully gets away with it. And the sad part is it isn't even always kids who bully other kids. There was that delightful (note the sarcastm), gem where the mother of a young girl drove another girl to suicide by posing as a young man on Myspace who claimed to have fallen for her and then dumped her hard a few weeks later, and all because the girl she "dumped" had had a fight with her own daughter and they weren't friends anymore. I rather feel that people like that, be they kids or adults, and particularly if their antics result in harm to others, need to be beaten up in front of a whole bunch of other people including their original victim or, failing that, their family. Heck, maybe the family or the victim should get the choice whether or not to administer the pounding themselves. Certainly I think the two who made the video that led to Tyler Clemente's suicide should not only be expelled but beaten up. And yes, they ought to be banned from all other colleges. In all likelyhood though that's probably not going to happen unfortunately.
Bryan I live where the Phoebe Prince case is, not in South Hadley but in the same state. There have been arrests made in that case, including one for statutory rape. Unlike most juvenile arrests, the photos of teen brattums have been published in the papers with names. A**hole advocates are talking about what wonderful pweshus kyddz the perpetrators are. Um, O K, what are we, when FIFTEEN YEAR OLDS are telling another student, "Stay away from others' men, W____?" ?! Are we on the level of child brides in the third world now, married at 15?! I don't think so. Also they are trying to blame Prince herself, having been treated with Prozac at one time. O K, someone has gotten antidepressants, so you make things worse for 'em? Personally I hope little Brattums, Snottums, and Puddums get prison time & while they're there get mentally tortured until they hang themselves with the bed sheets. Now that would be justice.
As for the myspace bullies in Missouri, the egg donor...didn't an 18 year old daughter of hers help in this scheme...and her family were being HIGHLY ENCOURAGED by their neighbors to move out of the neighborhood. It's taken too long, but I think people are getting fed up of being expected to put up with stunts like this. Gay straight whatever I think everyone should be able to get an education without being harrassed.
I think it would also help if they had wide long objects, or at the very least, huge dildos, shoved up their rectums without lubricant and had it videoed as a form of punishment and humiliation. Normally, I would never advocate such a thing, but they took it upon themselves to video this man's intimate moments and share them with the world, resulting in his eath so...
My apologies. I meant anuses. But if they do reach as far as the rectoms, I guess those guys will be joining their victim in the other life, hopefully not in the same place of course. *smile*
i really hope that those students are haunted by evil spirits every night for the rest of there lives. My brother goes to that school and is very sad because of the tragedy. Some of his close friends know the young man who died. i feel very sad because he shouldn't have gone through this. I don't understand how the hell can these students who did that senseless act and thought it was a joke sleep well each night for the rest of there lives with a big ball of guilt growing inside there chests. i just don't understand this whatsoever.
My sympathies for your brother and his friends. It must be truly difficult to lose someone like that, even if you just knew him in passing. I on't know how these creatures can live with themselves either, knowing what they did. If they at least feel some guilt, that makes them somewhat human. But if they don't, well, then you honestly have to wonder if they're all there...
Kids will be kids?
So let things like this go, let people grow up to kill without a conscience, and even worse, kill in some of the most horrible ways, and even worse if you can imagine, blame the person who died?
Oh, I have a blinding, passionate hate for people who think that way.
As do I, and you can all say I'm close minded an ignorant but bulleys of this nature need to suffer.
Yup. Agreed. I shall cheerfully inflict unspeakable things upon their bodies and minds.
if I get the chance.
ok I won't, really. but I'll think about it for amusement's sake when I'm bored. hahahaha this is bad, I have idle daydreams about torturing people....gods know what that says about me.
Remember the ending seen in the movie casino where joe pesci's character and his brother were beaten to death with baceball bats in a cornfield? Well the same should be done to those two here, set up a clandestine meeting like in the movie, then turn on them with bats, and bury them while they're still breathing like in the movie.
It says, my friend, that you know that bad people are getting away with their crimes or getting a slap on the wrist and that this is wrong! *smile*
We should take all the people who say they're tough and slam them in the face with a block of concrete. Let's see how tough they are.
i don't get how people who bully people to death live with themselves.
Same here.
I am opposed to homosexuality so I am glad people are takeing actions against it, but I don't approve of the taping. Especially not in private. If it was caught on tape with some sort of gesture of love such as holding hands maybe not as much.
Taking action???? If that's how people should take action in your eyes, the world should get rid of people like you too. You might do that one day, relentlessly beat people up either psychologically or physically for a life that they choose to live. ugh. Suppose I got in to your mind and told you that you couldn't think certain thoughts or feel certain emotions anymore just because of a completely outdated book? Because the dislike of homosexuality came from Christianity and such religions, after all. So Rachel, you can't be friends with so and so, you can't date so and so, you can't listen to so and so music because it will taint you, and you have to get rid of your likes, dislikes and lifestyle because no one likes it. Not saying that's true. It's a hypothetical situation. I'm suoe you wouldn't like it at all.
